The first question asked when launching Keptie Consulting has been "where does the name come from?"
The answer comes in two parts - origins and independence...
Our Founder was born in Arbroath, in North Eastern Scotland near to Keptie Pond and spent large parts of his childhood there.
Keptie Pond was built in 1885 as a winter open air skating rink, before becoming a boating pond and park. It is overlooked by the gothic Keptie Water Tower, which provided the inspiration for our logo.
Arbroath has a long history with Independence.
The Declaration of Arbroath, asserting the independence of Scotland following Robert the Bruce’s victory over the English at Bannockburn (1314), was composed by the Scottish Parliament in Arbroath Abbey and sent to the Pope at Avignon, in France.
